I Tried Arrow Arena and Got Shot Constantly

Initially, I opened Arrow Arena just because it was a lightweight game and played it on the web. I thought it would be a simple archery game. But to my surprise, I was shot down several times in a row within a minute of the match.

From the outside, the game appears to be rather harmless, but it's far faster than I had anticipated. Players run all over the map, arrows fly constantly, so there's almost no time to stand still.

I couldn't stand still for too long.

In the first few matches, I kept standing and drawing my bow to aim accurately. The result was that I was always taken down before I could even shoot.

Later, I got used to running and aiming at the right angle. The feeling of dodging arrows and counter-attacking was quite fun. There were a few times I hit an opponent right when they were drawing their bow, which was a bit funny.

Controls

Arrow Arena uses very simple controls:

  • WASD for movement
  • Mouse to aim
  • To draw the bowstring, hold down the left mouse button.
  • Release the mouse button to shoot the arrow

The hardest part is probably aiming and predicting the opponent's movement. Shooting at an opponent's position often results in missing quite a bit.

Playing online means quick match starts.

I like this type of game because you don't need to download it. Just open your browser and play.

Matches are also quite short. Sometimes you get eliminated right away, but you immediately click "play again" because you feel like "this round isn't over yet."

The game is more suitable for quick entertainment than long grinding.

The pixel art graphics are decent.

Arrow Arena uses fairly simple pixel art. Not stunning, but clear enough to see during large team fights.

The scenes with many arrows flying at once look chaotic, but that's also the most fun part of the game, especially when you have low health but can still dodge continuously.

The sound is subtle, mainly just the sounds of arrows being fired and hits.

In summary,

Arrow Arena is suitable for those who like fast-paced, no-installation online PvP games. The rules are easy to understand, but shooting accurately and surviving for a long time isn't as simple as it looks. I think this is the kind of game where the more you play, the more you want to join another match.
